We have auditions for several roles this coming up this Sunday in Divas and the Hive at 4PM. There are roles available in:

  • The Taming Of The Shrew directed by James Beaumont, Jack Coates and Joe Nathan
  • A Devised Piece directed by Chess Hutin and Will Windridge
  • Dr Faustus directed by Katy Card and Emily Porritt

The Taming of The Shrew is Shakespeare’s classic comedy about the tale of a curst shrew and a swaggering braggadocio. The directors are looking to fill the following position:

A multi-role opportunity for either a male or female in which they will play Huntsman 1 and Nicholas (Nicola):
A loyal friend of the Lord, upper-class and pompous
A young naïve servant of Petruchio; lowest of the 4 household lackeys.
Needs to attend rehearsals on Thursdays & Sundays (with the occasional Friday evening) and available on the performance dates (29th/30th March)

The Devised Piece directed by Chess Hutin and Will Windridge is a production that is completely created by the cast. The directors are looking to fill the following position:

The initial idea was developed through discussion and stimuli. Within this devised piece there are currently 6 cast members, however a 7th member is needed to complete the piece. The idea and plot of the piece has already been developed, and a basic character has been created for this 7th member to fill. However although basic character development has been made, we hope that this new addition will help flesh it out and improve the piece. The available space is open to anyone who feels that they can bring something to the piece and can work well with the current cast.

Dr Faustus directed by Katy Card and Emily Porritt is the tale of a brilliant man who meddles in dark forces which ultimately cost him dearly. The directors are looking to fill the following position:

Scholar 1 and 2 – These two scholars are paramount in Faustus’ turmoil over whether or not to repent for selling his soul to the devil.
Chorus – A role is primarily based around physical theatre though no prior knowledge is needed
Old Man – A mysterious elderly man who appears towards the end of the play with a heavenly aura surrounding him.
Helen of Troy – The face that launched a thousand ships herself.
