Shoreline Theatre is once again supporting women everywhere and putting on a production of Eve Ensler’s Obie award-winning “The Vagina Monologues.
Introducing a widely divergent gathering of female voices. Including a 6-year-old girl, a septuagenarian New Yorker, a vagina workshop participant, a woman who witnesses the birth of her granddaughter, a Bosnian survivor of rape, and feminist happy to have found a man who ‘liked to look at it.’ Every year V-Day invites activists in colleges, communities, high schools or youth groups around the world to present select benefit events to raise awareness about violence against women and girl as well as raise money for local beneficiaries.
We will be supporting Swansea Women’s Centre and Swansea Women’s Aid. The production will be performed by Shoreline Theatre working with members from other University societies.
“Probably the most important piece of political theatre of the last decade…” – The New York Times
“Spellbinding, funny, and almost unbearably moving… it is both a work of art and an incisive piece of cultural history, a poem and a polemic, a performance and a balm and a benediction.
